Sending your photographs safely.
Your photographs are irreplaceable, and we treat them that way. Here is exactly how to get them to us safely - and how we look after them until they are back in your hands.
Three ways, whichever suits you.
If you are in the South West, we can arrange to collect larger collections in person - often the easiest option for a full box or albums.
You are welcome to hand your photographs to us directly by appointment, so they never go in the post at all.
For everything else, send by a tracked and insured service. We will confirm the best address and packaging for your items first.
How to pack prints so they arrive safely.
Place prints between two pieces of stiff card so they cannot bend or crease in transit.
Wrap the card and photographs in a waterproof layer - a sealed plastic wallet or freezer bag is perfect.
Use a padded envelope for a few prints, or a small box with padding for larger or mixed collections.
Add a slip with your name, contact details and a short description of what you would like - it keeps your order together from the moment it arrives.
Ask for proof of postage and tracking. For anything precious, insured is worth it for the peace of mind.
A little extra care for the fragile ones.
Keep them in their sleeves or a small rigid box so they are not loose. Avoid taping anything directly to the film.
Send albums as they are - please do not remove photographs to save space. We handle album pages carefully and can preserve the order and captions.
If a collection feels too fragile or valuable to post, ask us first. Collection or drop-off is often the right answer.
